The ShutterCover™ Trim to Fit Whole House Fan Cover
Tests: The cover was independently tested by the Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation in Springfield, Missouri in May 2001. During a 20-mph wind test, in a moderate size home with the fan louvers in fair condition, a significant amount of air infiltrated the home through its attic fan opening. With the SHUTTERCOVER TRIM to FIT in place, air infiltration through the louvers and overall house air infiltration was reduced. The Low-E™ radiant barrier insulation incorporated in the cover reduced heat loss, making the cover cost effective.
Never cover ventilation for providing make up and combustion air for gas fired appliances. Obstructing make up and combustion air starves oxygen from gas fired appliances and could result in the production of carbon monoxide which is a poisonous gas.
